Hang gliders are also drawn to Lake Achensee because of the great wind conditions. They ascend with their hang glider using the Rofan cable car and then enjoy the flight from the designated launch site.
Launch and landing site are operated by the Aeroclub Achensee. Use of these sites is possible for a fee, which is payable at the bottom station cash desk. There is one launch site on the Rofan:
The landing site for hang gliders is located in the field behind the roundabout (Lärchenwiese). This is the large meadow near Café Klingler in the centre of the village (windsock!).
