Perched atop the Gschöllkopf at 2,039 metre is a spacious viewing platform – the Adlerhorst (eagle’s nest). The platform, created by renowned Tyrolean artist smith Manfred Hörl, was modelled after an eyrie. About 15 tons of metal were used for this unique construction. With a diameter of eight metres and a 360° panoramic view, the platform, which can only be visited in summer, is a popular destination for hikers. The view of Lake Achensee, the Karwendel mountains, the Zillertal Alps and the lower Inntal valley is fantastic.
